  • Eldercare Counseling

    About

    By engaging outside expertise, FEAP can now connect you with trained professionals who have the knowledge and experience to meet a variety of eldercare concerns through consultation and customized guidance.

    Consultations are personalized for the your unique needs. The eldercare consultant will listen to your unique situation and needs and will provide research, information, and solutions tailored to you.

    Common concerns eldercare consultants can assist with include, among others:

    • Home Health Care Agencies
    • Nursing Home & Assisted Living Facilities
    • Transportation Services
    • Rehabilitation
    • Hospices
    • Home Medical Equipment
    • Independent & Retirement Communities

    Eligibility

    Employees of organizations FEAP supports and their adult family members are eligible for these services upon referral from FEAP.

    To get started, contact FEAP. We can provide a referral immediately (without an initial FEAP appointment) or by electing to schedule an appointment with FEAP first.

  • UVA BACKUP CARE - TEMPORARY IN-HOME CARE

    About

    Each UVA employee (including the UVA Medical Center and UPG) is offered 15 days per calendar year of backup care services for child or eldercare.

    UVA Backup Care is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

    The cost is $15 per day for center-based care and $6 per hour for in-home care.

    Register early. Call or go online to request care up to 30 days before the date of need. 

    Out of network option:

    If you can’t find someone through the service to provide the care and instead use a neighbor, friend, family member, other child care center to provide care, you can be reimbursed up to $100/day. 

    Self-care option:

    If you are single and have surgery or needs someone to stay with you, you are able to use UVA Backup Care as well. 

    Out of Town and Off-Hours option:

    If you are going to a conference, you are able to have someone stay in the hotel and care for children or elders during the conference. In addition, if you work outside standard working hours, you are able to find help in-home during these off hours.

  • JEFFERSON AREA BOARD FOR AGING - WIDE RANGE OF ELDERCARE SERVICES

    About

    JABA is the Jefferson Area Board for Aging. They have been supporting older and disabled adults, their families and caregivers throughout central Virginia (Charlottesville, plus Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Nelson counties) for over 40 years. 

    JABA will answer your questions about aging, support older adults to maintain independence, and can assist if you need a caregiver.
