History

Twenty-five years ago the Faculty and Employee Assistance Program began with a .5 Licensed Clinical Social Worker hired into the UVAHS Department of Social Work. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) initially served the medical center and then later expanded to take care of the faculty and staff of the University. The name changed to FEAP to demonstrate faculty was included in the service catchment and we have not looked back since.

Growth and Expansion

FEAP now serves UVA employees and their family members and more than 35 organizations in the Charlottesville community. FEAP provides comprehensive EAP services to address workplace productivity issues and employee’s personal concerns that may affect job performance. These could include mental health, substance use, financial, parenting, relationship, legal, caregiving, and other work-life challenges.

Our consultants are licensed mental health professionals and/or coaches and most have the obtained the Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) credential as well. FEAP has specialists in WorkLife Balance, Eldercare, Mindfulness, Coaching, Parenting, Couples, Positive Psychology. All of our consultants are licensed mental health providers in the Commonwealth of Virginia and most have the Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) credential as well.
