Master in Social Work (1998), Virginia Commonwealth University. Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (1993), James Madison University, Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2007 in Virginia and 2005 in New York. Advanced training in trauma and attachment informed treatment, including EMDR, IFS, and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT).
Allison has worked in a variety of settings over the last 25 years, including addiction treatment, community mental health, emergency services, and group and private practice. In private practice since 2011. She has extensive experience with assessment, crisis intervention, cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral (DBT) therapies, trauma and PTSD, mindfulness, and relationship counseling. She provides integrative therapies to address issues of grief, stress, trauma, anger, anxiety, and depression. She has experience and special interest in working with active military, veterans, first responders, and LGBTQ clients.
