Supporting Neurodiversity in the Workplace
Part of Hoos Well and FEAP's Thrive Together series of monthly reward-eligible webinars on mental health and social and emotional well-being, this webinar will provide a high-level overview of what we mean by neurodiversity and what conditions fall under the neurodiversity umbrella.
Rose Nevill, PhD, will dig into what it feels like to be neurodiverse and review strategies that can be helpful for neurodiverse employees in the workplace. With the goal of building empathy and awareness, this presentation is relevant both to those with neurodiversity and to their peers and supervisors.
Learning Objectives
Through participating in this webinar, participants will:
- Be able to define and describe what neurodiversity is
- Develop empathy for and awareness of the neurodiverse experience
- Learn at least three workplace strategies to support the neurodiverse experience.
About Your Presenter
Rose Nevill, PhD, BCBA-D is an associate professor in the UVA School of Education and Human Development, and a part of the UVA Supporting Transformative Autism Research Initiative.
She is a licensed clinical psychologist and researcher whose work is focused on improving autism and neurodevelopmental disorder awareness, caregiver training in autism supports, and improving diagnostic processes for neurodevelopmental disorders.
