- Differentiate between the four self-conscious emotions: shame, guilt, humiliation, and embarrassment.
- Understand the components of empathy and recognize two common barriers to empathy (empathic misses) that interfere with meaningful connection.
- Understand what self-compassion is and what it isn’t.
About the Presenter
Rose Markey, M.A., is a Senior Learning and Development Consultant. Rose has 30+ years of experience in Human Resources in healthcare as well as higher education. Her background includes recruitment, compensation, employee relations, corporate training programs, curriculum design, and classroom facilitation. Rose also serves as a leadership coach and is an active professional speaker. Rose is a Certified Dare to Lead facilitator based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown and has earned several professional certifications including Crucial Influence, Crucial Conversations, DiSC, Clifton Strengths, and Prosci Change Management.
