In this interactive session, participants will increase their knowledge and understanding of how to lay the groundwork for productive and successful interactions with others, and strategies for engaging in and maintaining productive dialogue.
- Participants will learn and understand the four skills needed for effective communication.
- Participants will learn strategies for practicing each of these four skills.
- Participants will identify their own internal default style when under stress, and ways to work with it.
- Participants will learn strategies for establishing healthy and productive dialogue, as well as ways to get back on track when things go awry.
About the Presenter
Monica Maughlin is a licensed professional counselor with more than 20 years of experience in the behavioral health field, working with children, adolescents, couples, families and adults. Prior to her arrival at FEAP she worked as a provider and director in community based mental health services and private practice. Her work over the years with individuals and families includes a focus on building healthy communication and interactional patterns.
